Turning a rejected part into a routed nonconformance record
A part gets red tagged at the machine and put in the crib, and the record that should follow it gets written from memory the next morning. Five outcomes are open to the board. Use as is, rework, repair, return or scrap. Rework ends inside the print and repair ends outside it, so only one of the two needs a written concession before the part can ship.
