Filing a backflow test report the purveyor will accept
Water purveyors take the test report through a program administrator, often BSI Online, and the cycle comes from state rules and from the purveyor that administers them rather than from a national rule. Reports come back when the tester certificate on file has lapsed, or when the assembly on the form does not match the assembly on the record, down to serial and size. Most forms want the calibration date of the test gauge. A failed result is not a filing problem, it starts a repair clock. Every one of those checks is knowable before you submit.
The technician photographs the nameplate, then types the model and serial from that photo, usually somewhere with bad light and worse signal.

When this is the wrong thing to build
Pick something else if you test a handful of assemblies a year as a courtesy to existing customers, because the filing volume never justifies the integration and the portal is a five minute job. This earns its place on a route with a few hundred assemblies and a renewal month that lands all at once.
