Reading expiry dates off certificate scans into dated fields
A compliance file for a clinical assignment is a pile of scans. A state licence, an American Heart Association card, a tuberculosis result and a respirator fit test record, each carrying a date that decides whether the person can work next month. Most of them are filed as an attachment with the date typed by hand or left empty, so the grid says on file and means nothing. A licence can also be checked at source through Nursys rather than trusted from a photograph. The output is narrow and testable: a date and an identifier.
The parser reads the resume, then somebody corrects the employment dates it merged, which is most of the time it was supposed to save.
Resumes arrive in every format that has ever existed, including scans with no text layer and designed templates in two columns that get read in the wrong order. Parsing is nearly always a third-party component, and its characteristic failure is employment history: dates written as ranges with words in them produce merged employers and wrong tenure.

When this is the wrong thing to build
Pick something else if assignments are industrial and the only document is a signed safety induction. This pays where a client audits the file before a start date and where one missing date pulls a worker off site, which is a clinical or a regulated pattern rather than a general one.
The constraint that shapes it
This is the sector where the boundary is sharpest, and it is worth stating plainly: rejection is the regulated act, not enrichment. More on how this sector works.
A file arrives. The fields come back typed and checkable. Read what this shape is, or start from one of these.
